Here we go again. Another Sunday night, another wild weather night. This time it is tumbling temps, rapidly freezing roadways, and seriously low wind chill temperatures.
A powerful cold front is racing across our area right now. After a high in the upper 40s the temperature is set to drop almost 40 degrees in the next 8 hours. Adding insult to injury is the rain that is falling right now making the roads wet. The rain will change to freezing rain and sleet and then snow. It will not be a lot of precipitation, but because the temperatures will be falling so fast I am worried about “flash freezing” on the roads. Please be very careful traveling tonight and Monday morning. Your driveway and sidewalks will likely be a sheet of ice in the morning and the temperature when you wake up will be in the single digits with wind chills well below zero. By the way, wind chill is the combination of the actual temperature and wind speed as a feels like temperature on exposed skin.
Another round of snow is on the way for Tuesday night. It looks like 2-4 inches at this point. Stay tuned.
