Rain Totals…Sunshine On The Way!

***Watch WISN 12 News this weekend for the latest weather information!***

The weekend got off to a dreary, damp, and windy start.  The good news is that I think we will salvage the second half of the weekend and enjoy some sunshine.

Remember, if you ever have a rain total please post it to the comments section of the blog and we will share it on WISN  12 News!  Here is a look at some of the rain totals from around the area thru Saturday afternoon.

  • Kenosha  0.39″
  • Greenfield  0.30″
  • Milwaukee Mitchell  0.25″
  • Fond du Lac  0.05″
  • Sheboygan  0.01″

The higher rain totals stayed over far Southeast Wisconsin.  Overall this week brought about 0.25″ to 0.75″ of rain to the region.  If you look back to the March forecast that we issued back in February…this was a week that was highlighted as one that would produce active weather for our region!

Before we discuss the weather for Sunday…don’t forget to set you clocks ahead one hour for Daylight Saving Time tonight!  This is also a great opportunity to replace the batteries in smoke detectors.  With the extra hour of daylight the sunset time on Sunday is 6:57 p.m.!

The weather on Sunday will be somewhat improved.  I think we will enjoy a decent amount of sunshine in the afternoon which should translate into daytime highs in the mid-40s lakeshore…to close to 50 inland.  The one down side will again be the gusty winds.  Winds will be out of the north-northeast around 15-25 mph for most of the day.

Below is a forecast satellite map which shows clearing taking place around Southeast Wisconsin at 5pm.  I think we see some clouds on Sunday…but there will be times that we get to enjoy the sun.
